The Barbara Lynn Bowler Scholarship is awarded to students in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences who meet the following criteria: (1) enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with a major in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, and (2) demonstrated academic merit and financial need. Award decisions will be made by the SLHS Executive Committee, and the size and number of scholarship awards will be based on the availability of funds. This award was established by Dr. Ned W. Dr. Bowler, a speech-language pathologist and speech scientist, was the first chair of the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology, and a professor at CU Boulder from 1959 to 1981.
