Post-Holocaust American Judaism Collections Graduate Research Fellowship

The Program in Jewish Studies and University Libraries’ Special Collections, Archives, and Preservation Department hold a competition for a Post-Holocaust American Judaism Collections Graduate Research Fellowship, which provides a $2,000 fellowship to a CU Boulder graduate student for the Spring 2019 semester. The Fellowship requires 65 hours of research over the spring semester (or approximately 4 hours per week to be distributed according to the student’s and supervisor’s schedules) in the CU Post-Holocaust American Judaism Collections (PHAJ). Research will be conducted in at the Special Collections & Archives Reading Room in Norlin Library during the room’s open hours, Monday – Friday, 11:00am – 4:00pm.

The Fellow will work with librarians and archivists to produce an original research paper or project using one or more of the PHAJ collections. Upon completion, the paper will be made available on the Post-Holocaust American Judaism Collections website for public viewing.

CU graduate students from all disciplines in the arts and humanities are welcome to apply; preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or interest in Jewish Studies, European or American history and culture, and/or archival work. Preference will also be given to students who have not yet worked or conducted research in the PHAJ Collections; however, all graduate students are encouraged to apply. Competency in foreign languages will be useful and should be mentioned in an application, although this is not a prerequisite for application.
