Miramontes Arts & Sciences (MASP) PEAC & Bound Application

Application Overview
This application is for students interested in applying to participate in the Miramontes Arts and Sciences Program, through one of the two first-year entry programs (PEAC or Bound). MASP is a program dedicated to advancing equity and belonging for students in the College of Arts & Sciences, and MASP’s two first-year entry programs are open to all incoming first-year Arts & Sciences students who seek to actively engage in advancing equity and belonging across our diverse campus community.

MASP operates in alignment with CU Boulder’s Non-Discrimination Policy (APS 5065) and the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA).

Incoming first-year undergraduate students with a declared major in the College of Arts and Sciences can apply to one or both of the following MASP entry programs:

PEAC: The Program for Excellence in Academics and Community

  • This is an all-expense paid 3-week residential academic and community-building summer program held from July 11, 2026 – July 31, 2026 on the CU campus. PEAC provides students with support to engage in intensive university-level coursework and form a strong community. Students completing PEAC say that the program prepares them for the transition from high-school to college and continues to benefit them during their first year and beyond.
  • Students who complete PEAC and its 5 non-credit bearing 3-week courses receive a $1000 completion stipend. They also become eligible to join MASP and receive an ongoing MASP participation scholarship of $1000/semester for up to eight semesters, if MASP participation requirements continue to be met.
The Bound Programs: MASP’s Divisional Community Cohorts
  • This is a year-long academic and community-building program for first-year students, grouped by their area of study (e.g., Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, or Arts & Humanities). Students completing Bound say it helps them transition to CU, bond as a cohort, develop their cultural competencies, build upon their academic strengths, and find community, both socially and academically.
  • Students in the Bound Programs are required to be active members of the MASP community in their first year and receive a $2000 scholarship for participation during their first year ($1000 in the fall and $1000 in the spring). The Bound Program scholarship is for one year only and is not renewable. However, students will continue to have support from MASP’s faculty mentorship and community space resources beyond their first year.

Acceptance Steps
Students who are accepted to PEAC or Bound will be asked to sign a post acceptance commitment indicating that the funding related to this program will only be released upon successful completion of the specified program. PEAC and Bound students will be notified by email via CU’s scholarship application system.

  • PEAC funding includes a $1000 stipend dispersed in August at the completion of the 3-week summer bridge program and a $1000/semester scholarship dispersed each semester as long as the student meets MASP participation requirements.
  • Note for PEAC recipients: Students who receive a Denver Scholars Foundation scholarship, a CU Lead Alliance scholarship, or a Pre-collegiate Bridge Scholars scholarship will not receive an additional MASP participation scholarship of $1000/semester since these scholarships require participation in MASP or another CU Lead Alliance program as a scholarship requirement.
