Peter H. Molnar Endowed Scholarship Fund in Earth, Atmospheric and Climate Science
The Peter H. Molnar Endowed Scholarship Fund in Earth, Atmospheric and Climate Science is provided through the Department of Geological Sciences. Recipients of the Peter H. Molnar Endowed Scholarship Fund in Earth, Atmospheric and Climate Science are awarded for one-year, and the scholarship is renewable for up to four years.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
· Be an incoming or transfer student with a major in Geological Sciences or Earth Science in the Department of Geological Sciences.
· Be a Colorado resident.
Preference will be given to students who are the first generation in their family to attend college and students historically underrepresented in the field of geosciences and/or climate science.
Preference will be given to students who demonstrate Financial Need according to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or CASFA.
The scholarship will cover tuition and fees up to $14,000.

To apply for consideration, you must:
- Complete the CU Boulder General Scholarship Application.
This application is for the 2026-2027 awarding cycle. Recipients from this applicant pool will be awarded in the 2026-2027 academic year.
It is the donor’s hope that scholarship recipients participate in at least one engagement opportunity with a partner high school within Colorado. Engagement activities will be coordinated and arranged by the Department.
Renewal criteria
To be eligible to renew this scholarship each year,, you must:
- Enroll full time each semester (12+ credit hours)
- Maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Be enrolled in the Earth Science or Geological Sciences major in the College of Arts and Sciences
