Elfriede Gamow Endowed Scholarship in the Biological Sciences
The Elfriede Reger Gamow Endowed Scholarship Fund in the Biological Sciences is provided through the College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Office. Recipients of the Elfriede Reger Gamow Endowed Scholarship Fund in the Biological Sciences are awarded for one-year, and the scholarship is renewable for up to four years.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an incoming first-year, transfer, or current undergraduate student enrolled full-time in the upcoming academic year with a declared major in EBIO or MCDB in the College of Arts & Sciences.
- Have graduated from a Colorado high school.
- Demonstrate financial need as determined by the FASFA/CASFA.

Renewal Criteria
To be eligible to renew this scholarship each year, recipients are required to enroll as full-time undergraduate students in EBIO or MCDB each fall and spring semesters, continue to show need, and be SAP eligible.
Preference is given to students who participate in University sanctioned student groups that support women who pursue science majors and are open to all students regardless of gender or race and to students in their first or second year. Women are encouraged to apply to this scholarship, however an applicant’s gender will not be considered a factor in the selection process.
