Social Justice Scholars Program
The Social Justice Scholars Program application is for students interested in applying to the Social Justice Scholars Program who will be sophomores (2nd year) or juniors (3rd year) in 2026-27 academic year.
The selection committee will be looking for students who have demonstrated an academic, research, extracurricular, and/or career interest in social justice. Relevant experience includes (but is not limited to) coursework as well as participation in related clubs, programs, and organizations.
This program comes with a one-time $5,000 academic year 2026-27 scholarship if all requirements are met. Scholar recipients will be required to enroll in SSCI 2000: Organizing for Social Change in Fall 2026. Additionally, they will be required to attend a daylong retreat at the beginning of the Fall semester, and to regularly participate in events and seminars throughout the academic year designed to build connections between each other, faculty in the division, and members of the community engaged in related activity.
The following students are eligible to apply:
• Rising sophomores/2nd year and juniors/3rd year with a declared major in a Social Science Division in the College of Arts & Sciences.
• All Social Science majors are eligible: Anthropology; Economics; Ethnic Studies; International Affairs; Linguistics; Sociology; Political Science; Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences; Women and Gender Studies.
• Cumulative CU GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- In residence on CU Boulder campus for AY 2026-27.
Students must complete the CU Boulder General Scholarship Application and the Social Justice Scholars application by the deadline.
