Alumni Legacy Scholarship for Freshmen

The Alumni Legacy Scholarship for Freshmen is provided through the Alumni Association and the University of Colorado Boulder. When a family makes it a tradition to attend CU Boulder, it’s something to be proud of. The Alumni Legacy Scholarship for Freshmen was established to honor students who have a parent, step-parent, grandparent or step-grandparent who graduated from CU Boulder. Recipients of the Alumni Legacy Scholarship for Freshmen are awarded for one academic year.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:

  • Be an incoming first-year and first-time degree-seeking student.
  • Enrolled full-time at CU Boulder.
  • Have minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
  • Have a parent, step-parent, grandparent or step-grandparent who graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder
  • Demonstrate through their essays, a strong legacy connection to the University of Colorado Boulder.

Recipients are also encouraged to submit a Post-Acceptance bio and thank you letter to donors and supporters of the scholarship.

To apply for consideration, you must:

This scholarship aims to support the lived and individual experiences and achievements of first-generation college students. This scholarship is open to qualified CU Boulder applicants and does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, creed, religion, veteran status, marital status, political affiliation, political philosophy, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression in accordance with state, federal, and Regent law.
