Forever Buffs First Generation Scholarship

The Forever Buffs First Generation Scholarship is provided through the Alumni Association and the University of Colorado Boulder. This scholarship supports first generation students during their journey as Buffs and builds an early connection between them and the Alumni Association. Recipients of the Forever Buffs First Generation Scholarship are awarded for one academic year.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:

  • Be an incoming first-year or returning undergraduate degree-seeking student.
  • Enrolled full-time at CU Boulder.
  • Be a first-generation student (neither parent, legal guardian or student has received a bachelor’s degree or higher).
  • Thoughtfully respond to essay question about the impact of being a first-generation student.
  • Have minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA.

Recipients are also encouraged to submit a Post-Acceptance bio and thank you letter to donors and supporters of the scholarship.

This scholarship aims to support the lived and individual experiences and achievements of first-generation college students. This scholarship is open to qualified CU Boulder applicants and does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, creed, religion, veteran status, marital status, political affiliation, political philosophy, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression in accordance with state, federal, and Regent law.
