Ruth Mitick Memorial Scholarship

Ruth Mitick was born on March 15, 1926, in Sterling, IL. She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1948 with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts & Sciences, majoring in physical education. While attending CU Boulder, she met her future husband, Stanley R. Mitick, also a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Ruth had a long career in the teaching profession spanning some 38 years, the last 23 years as a teacher at Challand Junior High in Sterling, IL.

This scholarship, established in her honor, will be used to provide undergraduate scholarship awards for students enrolled in the School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder.
