Zola Family Endowed Scholarship for Social Studies Teachers

John and Jaye Zola, both former secondary social studies instructors in the School of Education, established this scholarship in 2007 to support students who wish to become secondary social studies teachers. The Zolas wish to support student teacher candidates who will teach in ways that support civic mindedness, democratic participation, social justice, and a commitment to valuing diversity. Eligible students must have a strong recommendation from their social studies methods instructor and will be completing their student teaching semester. Preference will be given to Colorado residents from underrepresented communities.
