Cancer Impact Scholarship in Arts & Sciences
The Cancer Impact Scholarship is awarded to students who have suffered adverse financial circumstances due to a caregiver who suffered from cancer and meet the following criteria:
- Incoming first-year, transfer, or current undergraduate enrolled full-time with a declared major in the College of Arts & Sciences.
- Minimum high school or transfer GPA of 3.5 or CU GPA of 3.0.
- Submit the CU Boulder General Scholarship Application and the A&S Scholarship Application.
- Submit this scholarship application plus all requested materials by the deadline.
Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need. Note: Supplemental materials (essay plus two letters of recommendation) are due by the scholarship deadline of March 15th. Late submissions will not be accepted.

- Provide a personal essay explaining how cancer has affected a caregiver in your life and the circumstances that have led to financial need. It is recommended that you devote a portion of your essay to describing a plan for succeeding in school and in life despite these adverse circumstances. (1,000 word limit)
- Provide the name and email address of a friend, teacher, or employer (1st person of reference) to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf. Each letter of recommendation should be from a person with whom you share a different relationship.
