Talent & Creativity Scholarship in Dance

The Talent and Creativity Scholarship in Dance is provided through The Department of Theatre and Dance and the University of Colorado Boulder. Recipients of the Talent and Creativity Scholarship in Dance are awarded for one year. This is a one-time scholarship.

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a current undergraduate enrolled full-time with a major (BA or BFA) in Dance in the College of Arts & Sciences.
    • Maintain a cumulative GPA 2.5 or higher.
  • Students are selected based on their involvement in the dance division and the CU Boulder community. Possible areas of consideration include dedication to dance training, quality of choreographic endeavors, ingenuity of artistic exploration, commitment to technical theatre work and community outreach. Special attention given to attributes that extend beyond coursework requirements.

Evidence of Involvement includes performance, choreography (beyond composition class requirements), running/construction crews (beyond production requirements), production management (beyond production requirements), costume design/construction, recruitment, publicity, leadership in Onstage or CUDC, dance volunteer work outside the department and off campus. Special consideration will be given to those with direct involvement in CUDC. We realize not everyone is able to attend CUDC meetings, so involvement could include but is not limited to: participating or teaching Unleashed classes, participating in CUDC Fridays, helping with fundraising, attending weekly meetings, helping with Open Space.
