Diamond Stecher Family Endowed Scholarship in the Honors Program of Arts and Sciences

The Diamond Stecher Family Endowed Scholarship is awarded to students in the Honors Program in the College of Arts and Sciences. It is awarded to one student for the academic year and is split equally between the fall and spring semesters ($1,000 in the fall and $1,000 in the spring). Students must have an honors thesis in progress, must be planning to defend their thesis in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025, and must be planning to graduate in Spring 2025 or later. To apply for this scholarship, complete the supplemental questions listed below by the deadline of September 30th.

You must submit your Thesis Registration Form with Prospectus Bibliography and Timeline as a single PDF to apply for this scholarship, but you must also submit this form directly to the Honors Program to graduate with Honors. Eligibility Criteria

  1. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  2. Must have an Honors Thesis currently in progress
  3. Must be planning to graduate in Spring 2025 or later
  4. Must have completed, or be in the process of completing, at least on honors program classes (classes that end in a -880,881,888R, or 889R)
  5. Must be planning to defend thesis in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025

  2. Submit your current academic transcript (this may be an unofficial copy)
  3. Submit your Thesis Registration Form with Prospectus Bibliography and Timeline as a single PDF

  4. List one Honors Program course you are currently enrolled in or have completed. (List course name, number, and section.)
  5. Upload an unofficial copy of your current academic transcript. You can easily access your unofficial transcript by going into your Buff Portal and clicking on the Grades & GPA tile.
  6. Upload your prospectus, initial bibliography, and proposed timeline as a single PDF. Please be sure to include your name and student ID on the document.
  7. Reflecting upon your experience, write a personal essay on the value of an honors education. (approximately 250 words).
